Social Event Chair

  • Organize community social events.
  • Organize teacher appreciation events.
  • Sub-committee chairs to send blurbs (when applicable) to Communications Coordinator for publication in weekly e-mail newsletter and communicate with VP.

Social Sub-Committees:

    1. Maze Day, Back-to-School Night and Open House PTO Welcome & Recruitment – PTO Board Members. Set up table with PTO program and sign-up info.
    2. Teacher & Staff Appreciation – organize events throughout the school year to celebrate and thank our amazing teachers and staff. Coordinate donations, volunteers, catered meals, as needed.
    3. Volunteer Coordinator – create sign-up forms and help recruit and coordinate volunteers for PTO and school events.
    4. Student Activities Coordinator – plan our 2 school dances (October and March). Organize food, decorations, Photo Booth, and recruit volunteers.
    5. 8th Grade Graduation – organize 8th grade dance party after graduation ceremony. Solicit donations to cover expenses as well as small gift cards to be used for door prizes and raffles. Send out a Sign-up Genius to recruit 6th and 7th grade parents to help out at actual event. How-to Manual included.
    6. Drama Program Liaison – work with drama program lead teacher to support program. Communicate drama program needs to PTO to help secure appropriate PTO funding allocation to program. Organize, lead, and fundraise for the annual drama production.
    7. Music Program Liaison – work with music program lead teacher to support program. Communicate music program needs to PTO to help secure appropriate PTO funding allocation to program. Organize and lead preparation of the Winter and Spring Music Concerts in coordination with the Music Director.
    8. STEM Program Liaison – work with STEM program lead teacher to support program. Communicate STEM program needs to PTO to help secure appropriate PTO funding allocation to program. Coordinate family volunteers for program activities, as needed.
    9. Art Program Liaison – work with art program lead teacher to support program. Communicate art program needs to PTO to help secure appropriate PTO funding allocation to program.
    10. Grade Level Community Leaders – positions for each grade to help improve communication between parents and teachers. Objective is to help promote teacher wish-lists and support out-of-class work like copying, etc. Establish a system where both teachers and volunteers have up-to-date information on tasks they need help with.
    11. Beautification – new position to spearhead campus landscape beautification and wall mural painting. Communicate with Principal on school vision and PTO for funding.
